DHL Supply Chain Named a Leader in 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant, Third-Party Logistics Providers, NA

DHL Supply Chain Named a Leader in 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant, Third-Party Logistics Providers, NA

WESTERVILLE, Ohio (May 15, 2019): DHL Supply Chain, a division of Deutsche Post DHL Group and the leading global contract logistics provider, has been positioned by Gartner, Inc., the world's leading research and advisory firm, as a Leader in its 2019 Magic Quadrant for Third-Party Logistics, North America report.

DHL Supply Chain's scale and capabilities enable a deeply integrated end-to-end supply chain for its customers, providing value to a substantial range of leading global corporations. Nearly 70 percent of the companies listed in Gartner, Inc.'s The Gartner Supply Chain Top 25 for 2018 are DHL Supply Chain customers. (Gartner, The Gartner Supply Chain Top 25 for 2018, Stan Aronow et al., 16 May 2018)

According to Gartner, "This Magic Quadrant report evaluates the most prominent third-party logistics (3PL) providers in North America."

DHL Supply Chain was one of 19 companies that Gartner evaluated and positioned across two axes: Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute. Completeness of Vision's Market Understanding criteria "[e]valuates the degree to which the provider understands current supply chain and logistics challenges and trends, and translates them into industry and/or domain-specific customer solutions. This includes supporting new and different partnering and operating models as desired by customers." The axis of Ability to Execute's Overall Viability criteria "[a]ssesses the organization's overall financial health, the practical success of the business, and the likelihood that the business will continue to offer and invest in its services, and can extend its capabilities to meet customers' needs."

In 2019, DHL Supply Chain maintained the furthest position in Completeness of Vision and improved its position for Ability to Execute in the Leaders quadrant compared to the previous version of the report.

According to the Gartner report, "These providers enable customers to outsource, either completely or partially, their logistics operations to external specialists. Many companies view logistics outsourcing as an effective strategy primarily to reduce costs, but more and more customers are seeking innovative solutions that can improve process and service as well."

"Predictability is critical in this business, and our customers count on us to maintain a level of unmatched operational excellence in everything we do," said Scott Sureddin, Chief Executive Officer, DHL Supply Chain North America. "We believe that being named a Leader in the Magic Quadrant again this year is a testament to our ability to think strategically and operate exceptionally to drive continuous efficiency improvements for our customers across verticals."
