Polymer Solutions International at PACK EXPO 2019

The 3-Piece Side Step Pallet and Top Cap Container is Designed to Provide a Stable Platform and Protect Beverage Dispensers during Deliveries

Polymer Solutions International at PACK EXPO 2019

Newtown Square, Pa., - Sept. 17, 2019 - Polymer Solutions International (PSI), a leading global supplier of material handling products for the food & beverage, pharmaceutical, industrial and retail industries, has announced that it will be showcasing the latest version of its Side Step Pallet System at PACK Expo 2019, Sept. 23-25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Side Step Pallet System was specifically designed for a global beverage manufacturer to provide a safe, stable shipping container for its high-end beverage dispensers. PACK Expo attendees who want to see the current version of the Side Step Pallet are invited to stop by PSI's booth LS-6804 in the Lower South Hall in the Containers & Materials Pavilion.

The Side Step Pallet System is designed as an easy-to-assemble, reusable storage and distribution system for shipping beverage dispensers from the factory to retail locations and then returning used dispensers to the factory for maintenance or disposal. Constructed from 100 percent recyclable plastic, the Side Step Pallet System fully encases the dispenser, providing a stable storage and shipping platform for the high center-of-gravity machines, which in turn protects the machines as well as the people who handle them.

The revolutionary design of the Side Step Pallet System allows for the entire machine to be lifted with a pallet jack; base rail components of the pallet to be removed without tools; and the machine to be set in place on its own legs without ever removing it from the pallet jack or center platform of the Side Step Pallet.

Jerry Koefelda, Vice President of Sales & Product Development at Polymer Solutions, said, "Safety was one of our primary objectives throughout the entire design process. The Side Step Pallet System with a beverage dispenser enclosed was tested to ensure compliance with the International Safety Transit Association's (ISTA) 3B protocol for Tip/Tip Over. The unique 3-piece pallet and its associated installation methodology, greatly increase the safety of the installer as well as the staff and patrons of the retail outlets."

The benefits of the Side Step Pallet System include:
• Improved safety for the dispensers and the people delivering them.
• Reduction of shipping claims caused by damage in transit.
• Ability to ship units individually via less-than-truckload (LTL) network.
• Elimination of the need to use ramps to remove the dispenser from packaging.
• Faster and quieter installation at restaurants and quicker turn-around on returns.
• Re-use of the Side Step Pallet System, reducing packaging waste and supporting sustainability efforts.

Steve Kurth, Director of North American Sales for Polymer Solutions, added, "The Side Step Pallet System is a perfect example of what can be accomplished when teams work together. We made some innovative changes to the original design based on feedback from the beverage manufacturers engineers to make the product more user friendly. For example, we added some clips that slide into place to securely clip the pallet system together. Then, once the beverage manufacturer rolled out an updated model of its dispenser, we redesigned the Side Step Pallet System accordingly."

Although the Side Step Pallet System is custom made for one beverage manufacturer, PSI has a team of highly skilled product engineers on staff to develop custom designed pallets, crates and shipping containers for a variety of industries such as:
• Other beverage dispensers
• High-end vending machines
• Medical equipment
• Laboratory devices
• Dental chairs
• 3-D printing machines
• Server and networking enclosures
• Or any other high-priced machinery that needs to be protected during shipping and delivery.

Anyone attending PACK Expo 2019, who would like to speak with Polymer Solutions about your own unique requirements, is invited to stop by PSI's booth LS-6804 in the Lower South Hall in the Containers & Materials Pavilion. Other products on display include: hygienic products, reusable pallets and one-way shippers.

Hub International announces strategic partnership with Mas Seguros to expand transportation cross-border capabilities

Chicago, IL, October 1, 2024 - Hub International Limited (HUB), a leading global insurance brokerage and financial services firm, announced today an exclusive referral and broker program partnership throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico with MAS Seguros, the largest trucking insurance broker in Mexico. The partnership is a response to Mexico’s growing influence in the global economy and a reflection of HUB’s and MAS Seguros’ commitment to expanding its capabilities to better serve clients doing business throughout North America.

Due to changing global political relationships and policies*, there has been a significant move for manufacturing operations to Mexico, which comes with increased risk and insurance challenges when transporting goods cross-border. Organizations face regulatory compliance issues, crime, product damage, catastrophic weather events and accidents. Additionally, more transportation firms from Mexico are moving to the U.S. As a result, there is an emerging transportation and logistics need to manage risk and insure freight, property and assets while transporting goods into Mexico for manufacturing and then back to the U.S. and Canada.
