Dachser Americas Opens New Offices in Argentina and Chile

Growth in South America calls for larger regional offices in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Santiago, Chile

Dachser Americas Opens New Offices in Argentina and Chile

Plantation, FL, October 8, 2019 - Due to the continuous growth of its South American operations, global logistics provider Dachser recently relocated both its Buenos Aires, Argentina regional office as well as its Santiago, Chile regional office to larger facilities.

"The business in both Argentina and Chile is expanding and we simply outgrew our offices in these countries. We needed more employees, equipment and space to properly handle the business we have today as well as prepare for the growth we anticipate in these markets," said Guido Gries, Managing Director Dachser Americas.

Buenos Aires—Key Export Hub of Argentina

Continuing to drive the country's economy, exports from Argentina rose by 8.3% from July 2018 to July 2019. Key exports primarily include agricultural products, with cereal, fats and oils, beef and related products as well as dairy products accounting for 36% of total shipments.

Buenos Aires is one of the most important export hubs in Argentina, accounting for 72.2% of national exports in 2018. With the movement to a new, larger facility in Buenos Aires, Dachser places itself in a strategic position within the city, close to more than 9,000 companies of many sectors that are key for Argentina's economic growth.

Since 2006, Dachser Argentina has been offering reliable and high-quality global supply chain solutions for customers and is looking to soon expand its presence in the country starting with cities as Mendoza, Cordoba and Santa Fe.

Santiago Continues to Establish Itself as Major Hub of South America

Considered the most stable and prosperous country in the South America, Chile continues to be the largest exporter of 20 products, including copper cathodes and ore as well as iodine among other products. Outside of the mining sector, Chile is also the largest exporter of fresh grapes, fresh blueberries and fresh plums.

A critical export hub for the region, Santiago, Chile is in the municipality of Las Condes. This is a strategic location for city logistics due to the commercial activity of the Santiago metropolitan region.

The new location accommodates Dachser Chile´s growing number of employees. Since its opening in 2009, Dachser Chile has been focused on customer service, providing tailored logistics solutions and growth.

"Both Argentina and Chile have great economic potential and logistics opportunities. Our immediate goals are strengthening our business locally and developing our Interlocking business by involving our market-leading European overland transport and warehousing network into our global air and sea freight service offering", said Guido Gries, Managing Director Dachser Americas.

By opening the new South American offices, Dachser Americas reaffirms its commitment to be a reliable transportation partner for export-orientated local businesses in the market. Dachser provides efficient logistics solutions around the world and flexibly responds to the demand for services by companies in different sectors of the region.

The partnership is a response to Mexico’s growing influence in the global economy and a reflection of HUB’s and MAS Seguros’ commitment to expanding its capabilities to better serve clients doing business throughout North America.

Due to changing global political relationships and policies*, there has been a significant move for manufacturing operations to Mexico, which comes with increased risk and insurance challenges when transporting goods cross-border. Organizations face regulatory compliance issues, crime, product damage, catastrophic weather events and accidents. Additionally, more transportation firms from Mexico are moving to the U.S. As a result, there is an emerging transportation and logistics need to manage risk and insure freight, property and assets while transporting goods into Mexico for manufacturing and then back to the U.S. and Canada.
