New Self-Service Technology Freightquote by C.H. Robinson Streamlines Shipping for Small Businesses

New Self-Service Technology, Freightquote by C.H. Robinson, Gives Small Business Customers Seamless Access to Shipping Across Multiple Modes

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minnesota (Nov. 13, 2019) — As part of its continued commitment to creating market-leading solutions focused on meeting customer needs, C.H. Robinson has introduced Freightquote by C.H. Robinson, the first and only self-service technology offering that guides small business customers to the best multimodal shipping options for improved savings, reliability and visibility.

The web-based, mobile-responsive offering is specifically designed to streamline the shipping process and allow small business customers to book freight without any shipping knowledge or expertise—without even having to sign up.

"Our research shows that small business shippers want ease of use and peace of mind when booking their shipping, which is exactly what Freightquote by C.H. Robinson's technology is designed to do," said C.H. Robinson President and CEO Bob Biesterfeld. "Customers are guided through a simple, transparent process that allows them to make the best shipping decision for their small business."

Small business customers enter a few details and can instantly compare competitive rates from high quality carriers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They can go online with their phone, tablet or computer to book their LTL or Truckload freight, track shipments, get proactive notifications and pay with a credit card.

"Through an initial pilot period, we've already served the needs of thousands of small business customers," Biesterfeld said. "This is only possible because of the unmatched scale, information advantage and industry-leading technology of the C.H. Robinson network."

The technology was built by supply chain experts collaborating with small business owners on the features, design and user experience. Its foundation is the C.H. Robinson Navisphere global technology platform, which connects the company's entire network of 200,000 companies to provide customers with greater supply chain efficiency, real-time insights and visibility.

Freightquote by C.H. Robinson is another example of how the company puts customers at the center of everything it does, listening to their needs and solving for their logistics challenges.

Small businesses play a crucial role in the economy, contributing up to 44% of all US GDP growth annually. They also make up the vast majority of shippers. Last year, C.H. Robinson worked with more than 100,000 small businesses alone.

Freightquote by C.H. Robinson is one of several new technology solutions made possible by the company's commitment to investing $1 billion in technology over the next five years, doubling its previous $1 billion investment in technology over the last 10 years.

Hub International announces strategic partnership with Mas Seguros to expand transportation cross-border capabilities

Chicago, IL, October 1, 2024 - Hub International Limited (HUB), a leading global insurance brokerage and financial services firm, announced today an exclusive referral and broker program partnership throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico with MAS Seguros, the largest trucking insurance broker in Mexico. The partnership is a response to Mexico’s growing influence in the global economy and a reflection of HUB’s and MAS Seguros’ commitment to expanding its capabilities to better serve clients doing business throughout North America.

Due to changing global political relationships and policies*, there has been a significant move for manufacturing operations to Mexico, which comes with increased risk and insurance challenges when transporting goods cross-border. Organizations face regulatory compliance issues, crime, product damage, catastrophic weather events and accidents. Additionally, more transportation firms from Mexico are moving to the U.S. As a result, there is an emerging transportation and logistics need to manage risk and insure freight, property and assets while transporting goods into Mexico for manufacturing and then back to the U.S. and Canada.
