Here’s to you

CSCMP celebrates its members each May—acknowledging the care supply chain professionals put into developing their personal brand and maximizing their competency and capability.

For my first column, I really want to acknowledge the very important part you play at the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and all that we stand for together. I do believe that your decision to be a part of the global community of supply chain practitioners and academics who make up CSCMP says a lot about who you are. You care about your personal brand, your development, and maximizing your competency and capability. May is member appreciation month. And I want you to hear it from me personally; you are very much appreciated!

From the global geopolitical shift that began in 2018 to the pandemic of 2020, supply chain professionals have faced pressing challenges and dynamics that have forced them front-and-center at their companies and into the wider public consciousness. And we have responded to that call—first pulling out all the stops to keep operations running and now working to improve supply chain resiliency and insert value-added redundancy. In doing so, we have had to create new processes and innovate like never before.

As a result, CSCMP continues to see expanded growth in membership like never before as you, our members, seek the necessary knowledge and access to networks to advance your development and that of your supply chain.

The supply chain will continue to advance with innovative processes and technology. I would imagine that this will occur at a pace far greater in this decade than perhaps we’ve ever seen before. CSCMP is here to help you on your journey, and we are very pleased to be that resource to help you achieve your goals.

This September we will return to a live and in-person EDGE conference in Atlanta, Georgia. There is no turning back! If you have not had a chance to register yet, visit cscmpedge.org to sign up to join us September 19-22 at the Georgia World Congress Center. We are even offering a registration promo code during the month of May 2021 to all members—receive $500 off your EDGE 2021 conference registration by using the special code MAY500B at checkout.

I can tell you personally that momentum for the live conference is building among our membership, and we have commitments from the best in the business to appear and deliver cutting-edge innovative concepts and thought leadership on your behalf. I look forward to seeing you there and sharing more appreciation for your membership in this great global organization.

My best regards,

Mark S. Baxa
