PERSPECTIVE

Much more than just a name change

Introducing Supply Chain Xchange—a new way to look at supply chain management thought leadership and best practices.

SCX24_01_perspective.jpg

I am honored to welcome you to Supply Chain Xchange. More than simply a change in name from its predecessor, CSCMP’s Supply Chain Quarterly, Supply Chain Xchange is a new way of looking at the supply chains that run our world.

The six issues we present this year will focus on key innovations in supply chain management. This first issue is directed towards global logistics and transportation. The March/April issue will address the impacts that robotics and automation are making on supply chains. Retail is the focus for May/June. For July/August, we will preview key trends and topics that will be central to September’s CSCMP EDGE conference held in Nashville, Tennessee. The September/October issue will highlight startups and emerging technologies. And to finish the year, we will review the State of Logistics for 2024 with a look ahead to supply chain management in 2025.

Editorially, you will notice significant changes as well. The articles will be more concise with practical insights and thought leadership from the leading minds working in today’s supply chains. We value your time, so the stories will be faster reads featuring more graphics, photos, and key takeaways to quickly get to the heart of each story. The layouts will also translate more easily to mobile devices, incorporating responsive design for our many readers who prefer to get their information on phones and tablets.

Additionally, our website is also being refreshed. TheSupplyChainXchange.com will offer the latest supply chain news and the quality reporting and thought leadership that for years has been the hallmark of this official publication of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.

More than anything, we chose the word “Xchange” to signify the exchange of ideas and best practices that this publication will champion. As in algebra, X represents a variable that can change in response to our transformative times. As supply chains evolve, we will be here to share how our industry continues to “make our world better one supply chain at a time.”

Enjoy the journey with us.
